The hypnotising lead single from Pleasure House’s latest EP, Show Your Colours is a small taste of what the band have in store for fans. ‘Cyan’ is the first track on the EP and eases listeners in with broody synth drums that melt into a melodic guitar pattern. The four piece band describe their sound as ‘dirty indie dance pop’ and exude a quiet confidence that is evident in their polished tracks that have been noticed by BBC introducing and influential bloggers alike.
The band is made up of Birmingham boys Alex, Abbas, James and John. Leader singer Alex’s voice sits somewhere between sweet and satisfying, starting softly and building in all the right places. The following tracks on the EP, ‘Wasted on Me,’ ‘Why’d You Have To Go?’ and ‘M.O.B’ come together to create a complete and cohesive sound from Pleasure House. Such self-awareness is rare for a relatively young band and is only set to become stronger as the band embark on a tour of the UK through April and June. Inspiration from Tame Impala can be heard with a hint of early Metronomy and the easy, anthemic choruses from bands like Coasts.
Make sure not to miss these guys (who are consistantly praised for their live performance) at our debut Club CloseUp at its new venue, The Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, sponsored by Jagermeister. #ItRunsDeep
