CloseUp x Rixson Music: Native People + SAHARA + Dance a la Plage + Fabrics

Our June edition of our monthly Brighton showcases with Brighton promoters Rixson Music is easily one of our best lineups to hit the stage (at The Joker), and we cannot wait for it.

Headlining our show as the Brighton stop on their second nationwide tour just this year, the eclectic and energetic Native People. With much hype from the likes of Clash Magazine, BBC Introducing, The Hyve to name a few, their new music is even more anticipated than ever before. Make sure to look out for their particularly unique cover of MNEK’s chart hit ‘Ready For Your Love’ and much plugged single ‘Don’t Save Me’.

One of Brighton’s many emerging talents and one of our own CloseUp artists, SAHARA take to the Joker stage once-more as part of a long ranging summer of slots and festivals. With latest EP ‘Amour’ gaining them much respect, track ‘Toe The Line’ even featured on BBC Introducing South’s highly coveted Saturday night show. The room is sure to be packed for these guys at what is essentially a hometown show.

Next up to hit our monthly show is a band we cannot wait for. Dance a la Plage are well known in the indie world, and latest single ‘2 2 2’ cemented that place. Catchy upbeat guitar and swooning lyrics allow for the perfect blend of indie/pop. With this a rare Brighton stop, make sure not to miss these guys in when they are in town.

Openers, Basingstoke 4-piece Fabrics, have burst onto the scene in recent months resulting in an upcoming nationwide tour across all of the nations great music cities. Particular highlight will no doubt be past single ‘Beachhead’. Much similar to their no doubt local friends Habitats in sound, they are set to put a big live performance in at their Joker debut.
