Middle Kids – Edge of Town: Single Review

Hailing from ‘down-under’, this Australian 3-piece are an absolute must listen. Middle Kids latest track ‘Edge of Town’ got a spin on Radio 1 last week on Huw Stephens BBC introducing show, giving the UK  a taste of what these guys have to offer.

‘Edge of Town’ starts with a drone-laden guitar/vocal combination, but grows and develops into a powerful ballad. Lead singer Hannah Joy (whose voice just has a tinge of Blondie FYI) has a truly eclectic vocal range, climaxing as the song moves into its true form as an indie-pop singalong anthem.
