Thursday 20th October brings the 3rd edition of CloseUp x Ticketweb Presents in Brighton, at our perfectly apt venue of BLEACH. This month see’s us bring infectious indie/pop from Leeds in the shape of our old friend Marsicans as part of their ‘Absence’ UK tour, with some of the biggest and best names in Brighton’s scene supporting.
Marsicans have had a roller coaster year, with lashings of festival appearances, climaxing at their BBC Introducing slot at the one and only Glastonbury. Rarely have we seen a band that clearly enjoy their craft so much, and this is evident with the upbeat, catchy and lyrically appealing back catalog. Ultimately they do music they way it is supposed to be done, just 4 mates writing and performing great tracks and being as happy as can be doing it, which is why their live set gets such rave reviews. Make sure to listen out for well known tracks ‘Arms of Another’ and ‘Swimming’.
Imbium are one of Brighton’s most talked about acts right now, which is why we wanted them so high up our CloseUp x Ticketweb Presents bill. 2016 has been a big year for these guys as they’ve made their way around the south, and even picked up some BBC introducing hype with latest track ‘Bethany’, a song that will no doubt resonate well live.
Cavaliers are back, after nearly half a year off they are back stronger than ever. With new music on the way they’ve found themselves on a national tour, hitting the likes of Bristol, Cardiff, London and Brighton, which is a bit of a hometown show for them. Last release ‘Gannet’ defines their youthful indie sound, and is still going strong on Spotify with 60,000 streams. Make sure you don’t miss what will be a packed room for the 5-piece.
Idle Frets are embarking on a journey far down south for their CloseUp debut (but are performing back to back dates with us), and we cannot wait. The Chester born, Liverpool bred 4 piece are getting hyped by all at the moment, with promises of new music on the horizon also, its set to be a big end to 2016 for these guys. Their biggest track to date, ‘Aftershow’ will 100% get the crowd moving as they open the show at BLEACH.
Tickets are just £5 (for 4 massively hyped artists, what a bargain) here
