The Van T’s – Fun Garcon: Single Review

Scottish, predominately female, rock quartet The Van T’s have just dropped a mission statement rather than a single.

‘Fun Garcon’ is one hell of a track, it’s ferocious and fierce, with buzzsaw guitars everywhere. Its dirt and rawness evoke a sense of primal rock n roll chaos. The song is unrelenting in pace and intensity. The excitement in the song is not just the guitar savagery but the swaggering snarling vocals of the Van Thompson Twins, Hannah and Chloe. Attitude, swagger and apocalyptic noise this track has it all. There is a sense of freedom and daring with a caustic power-punch. Fun Garcon sounds an ideal song for live performance in the clubs of Glasgow (and hopefully beyond).

For Fans of Wolf Alice and Hole, if this is an indicator of what’s to come then things can only get better for these four, whose sound should see a construction of a formidable studio and live reputation.
