The latest Club Close Up (w/Jägermeister UK) is imminent once again. Three awesome acts will be gracing the stage at the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen for what I am sure will be a night to remember.
Hailing from Nottingham, Headliners Mowbeck will bring their self-styled brand of “Gritpop” to Hoxton as part of their small but nationwide tour. Their mix of grooves, funky hooks and soaring anthemic choruses make them ideal headliners. They’re sure to get the crowd going with their heavy pulsing single Talkabout. With an appearance at Reading and Leeds already under their belt I’m sure there’s more to come from this band.
Shiners are another band boasting a self-styled genre. They call their mix of Britpop, wry observational lyrics and rousing guitar choruses, mixed with driving keyboard riffs as Britwave. It doesn’t take a genius to realise that it’s a mix of New wave and Britpop, or that this band are awesome. They come to Hoxton as part of two gigs in London. Everyone will be dancing, especially when superb new track ( I Feel So Blunt) is played.
One of Close Up’s own, Jangle Poppers, Cavaliers have a soothing and delicate sound but they are no strangers to a loud chorus, which will come in handy when they take to the stage in Hoxton. Having played with the likes of Johnny Borrell and Don Broco and their tracks gaining airtime on BBC Introducing they’re surely a band that cannot be ignored.
