In case you haven’t heard, CloseUp is going on tour! From the 1st November, we’ll be hitting the road with some of our talented musical friends for the ‘CloseUp & Friends Tour’. You’ll find us at Oporto in Leeds (1/11), The Loft in Southampton on the (3/11) and the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in London (10/11). Each night will see a different line up featuring some of the most exciting indie/electro artists making noise on the scene at the moment.
Our first stop on tour is the Oporto bar in Leeds on the 1st November where we’ve teamed up with Marsicans to curate a show for their monthly club night. Headliners for the night are No Hot Ashes who will be bringing their raucous indie sound and disco-infused chorus’ to get you moving. Expect to hear hits like ‘Bellyaches’ and ‘Easy Peeler’ from these Cool Cats (see what we did there?). They’ll be joined by Leeds very own Heir who share a nostalgia for the 80s in their irresistible indie-pop beats. Check out their latest release ‘Need You The Most’ for a taster of what to expect. Londoners How’s Harry will also be on the line up, bringing their Foals-esque vibes and powerful guitar riffs to get the party started. If that wasn’t enough, Marsicans will be on the decks keeping you partying throughout the night.
Second stop of the tour on the 3rd November sees us joining forces with Psychedelia to bring you a great night at The Loft in Southampton. Tropical groovers Habitats will be sharing their fast-paced funky indie music with you all as they headline the night. Familiarise yourself with their new album ‘409’ that dropped last month and get those dancing shoes ready. Joining them will be local lads, KICKS who will be providing the rock’n’roll vibes alongside SisterRay and their mixture of punk, rock and indie. You can also expect chiming guitars and upbeat bangers from indie 4-piece, Fabrics, who will bring their high energy to The Loft, and as they tweeted, suggest that you ‘come down and lose a shoe!’.
Our tour rounds off nicely on the 10th November at London’s Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in collaboration with everyone’s favourite club night digestif, Jägermeister. We’ll have music from Youth Killed It who are a modern-day combination of all your favourite noughties bands. Expect explosive rock guitars to rival the Arctic Monkeys and rapid grime meets indie vocals that would even give Stormzy a run for his money. Check out their album ‘Modern Bollotics’, released earlier this year for their captivating take on the ‘bollotics’ we can all relate to. Also on the bill will be MISFIRES, who describe themselves on Facebook as “The noise boys from down the road”. They’ll be visiting from Swindon, bringing their mix of Oasis meets The Libertines to the stage, fresh from supporting Coasts on tour. We can expect to hear their latest single ‘Do You Wanna’, an anthemic offering that you’ll be singing even when the show is over. They’ll also be some tropic indie pop vibes from Edinburgh quartet Indigo Velvet with their dreamy riffs and African rhythms to warm you up, so make sure to get there for doors as you won’t want to miss this party.
The CloseUp and Friends tour kicks off on the 1st November and tickets for all shows are available from Ticketweb: https://www.ticketweb.co.uk/search/?keyword=CloseUp+%26+Friends+Tour We’ll see you there!
