Dec 5th – CloseUp Presents: Submariner + Support

On the fifth day of December, CloseUp gives to you…ambient indie rock quartet Submariner! This captivating band will be headlining our very first Portsmouth show at The Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea. They’ll be bringing their emotive lyrics and hypnotic guitars to the stage with songs such as ‘Stumbling’, ‘Grow’ and ‘Closer’ that are sure to be on their set list.

Also joining the line up from along the coast will be fellow CloseUp mates, Bel Esprit, who will be making a raucous sound with their powerful and passionate indie music. See what we had to say about their recent release ‘Follow The Sun’ and make sure to also check out their other 2017 release, ’Crucible’ for a taste of what’s in store.

Arcade Hearts are on the bill too, providing the fresh indie disco pop vibes with songs such as ‘Running’ and ‘Honey’, whilst IVI will be getting the party started with her alternative pop sounds. Dec 7th – CloseUp Presents: Family Jools / SPINN / Bel Esprit

What’s better than a CloseUp show? One that’s free entry, of course! That’s right, on the 7th December we’ll be heading to Hy-Brasil Music Club in Bristol with a stellar line up for you to enjoy without paying a penny on the door. Hailing from the town itself, our headliners will be Family Jools and their unique genre of music. Think northern soul meets seventies rock’n’roll meets infectious indie pop. For a taster, we suggest checking out their most recent release ‘American Dream’ as well as the enthralling ‘Get Off’.

Bel Esprit will be coming along with us, as will Liverpool connoisseurs of jangly dream pop SPINN for their last show of the year. You can check out more about them in this week’s Artist Noise roundup. Make sure to get down for doors so you don’t miss a single second!

Dec 15th & Dec 19th – CloseUp Presents: Youth Club + Support

Southend-on-sea 4-piece, Youth Club will be heading out for their final tour of 2017 after what has been an unbelievable year for the band. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes as these boys are full of indie pop hits like ‘People’ and ‘Misunderstood’ that are guaranteed to get you making moves on the dancefloor.

Alongside Arcade Hearts, indie trio Austinn will be visiting from Luxembourg to provide support. They’ll be continuing along the indie-pop vibe with lavish guitars and catchy melodies in songs such as ‘Again’ and ‘Olivia’ that give the likes of The Pigeon Detectives and The Courteeners a run for their money. Check out their album ‘Appetite’ released at the end of October for a taste of what’s in store.
