CloseUp Top Tracks 2017: Part 1

It has been quite the year for music, with so many up and coming talented artists releasing incredible music across the board. We’ve been taking a look back at what we’ve been listening to over the year, and although a tough job, have managed to pick some of our favourite bangers of 2017. Check out part one and let us know your top tracks of 2017 by tweeting us @CloseUpPromo

Misunderstood – Youth Club

YC Presser.jpg

Channel those inner eighties vibes for this indie-pop anthem courtesy of Youth Club. Released in the Summer, Misunderstood is a pleasurable tropic-sounding energetic track that will warm your soul. It’s full of infectious hooks and cheerful beats and can brighten even the dullest of days.

Fade to Love – FOURS

FOURS

As we began to settle ourselves into the year of 2017, FOURS gifted us with a little pop banger in the form of ‘Fade to Love’ to help lift our spirits. It’s an addictive number fuelled by front gal Edith’s sensational vocals and powered by an addictive synth beat and some hella awesome guitar riffs. Our feet haven’t stopped dancing along to this one.

Television Romance – Pale Waves

PW

Following on from their opening track ‘There’s a Honey’, ‘Television Romance’ is a shimming indie banger with an infectious chorus. The opener and chorus resemble that of an early The 1975 track, so it may come as no surprise to hear that Pale Waves share the same label as Matt Healy and co. and worked closely with them for this dreamy offering.

Flat Champagne – Dan Caplen (Feat. Ray BLK)

Dan Caplen

Classically trained Brixton lad Dan Caplen teamed up with winner of BBC’s Sound of 2017 Ray BLK for this track that is a unique blend of R&B, funk and soul, filled with groovy hooks and shows off Dan Caplen’s talented vocal range. It’s a feel-good vibrant track that stands out from the crowd.

Running – Arcade Hearts

Arcade Hearts

Alt-indie quartet Arcade Hearts released their highly contagious ‘Running’ in October, a track that boasts energetic guitars, catchy synth hooks, and the all-important disco beats. Arcade Hearts have been churning out the bangers this year and we can’t wait to see what they bring us in 2018.

Wearing Nothing – Dagny

DAGNY

Norwegian pop princess, Dagny has had one hell of a 2017, touring extensively across the UK and Europe, and dipping her toes across the pond too. ‘Wearing Nothing’ was her first 2017 offering to us, following on from her ‘Ultraviolet’ EP released last year. From it’s funky bass to the seductive vocals, ‘Wearing Nothing’ is a true Scandi-pop earworm that you’ll be singing for days.
