Coming Up: Glass Peaks and Farebrother (CloseUp x Bristol)

If you’re struggling through dry January feeling like there’s no end in sight, then there’s no need to fear, February is fast approaching and before you know it, you’ll be out partying again with a beer in hand, and what better way to celebrate than with a CloseUp gig?

On February 3rd we’ll be gracing the eclectic and discerning Hy-Brasil Music Club in Bristol – the perfect setting for a headline show from Glass Peaks. The threesome from Kent are set to have a huge 2018 having worked hard to be seen as one of the UK’s biggest breakout bands since their debut in 2016. They’ve already toured with the likes of Maximo Park, White Lies and The Amazons and have four single releases nestled under their belts.

In 2017 they released the sensational ‘Speak and Spell’ a euphoric indie number containing turbulent guitars and gripping vocals, with a feel of a Foals number to it. The follow-up, ‘I’m Okay’ was picked as one of our tracks of 2017 with its combination of jangly and raucous melodies that will get deep into your soul. Their third offering of the year, ‘Hold Me Closer’, continues to show the dark, raw emotions of the band, with haunting vocals and edgy bass lines and highlighting the unique alt-indie sound that sets Glass Peaks apart from the rest. Their passion for their art is rife throughout everything they do and has seen them earn praise from the likes of 6music’s Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 1, Radio X and the Metro.

Support for Glass Peaks will come from bath-based rck quartet Farebrother, another up and coming band that is powering their way through the scene with their anthemic-sound of fiery guitars and heavy vocals. Their latest release ‘A Little Late’ was shared with us just before Christmas and is a percussion-soaked electric number with an infectious chorus. Also check out the exhilarating ‘Rapture’, that starts off stripped back and builds to explode with energy. Make sure you get down early on the 3rd February as you won’t want to miss them.
