Coming Up: Riscas + Bare Traps + Joe Jury @ thousand island

This Friday night, make your way down to Thousand Island in Islington London for a night under the disco balls with this stellar line up of indie-pop sensations.

Brightening up your evening, the ever effervescent Riscas will be putting on quite the fiesta with their enjoyable jangly guitars and upbeat tempos. We’re big fans of a Riscas live show and know you will be too as they get you making shapes on the floor with hit single ‘Panic Like Tom’ that’s been streamed over 1.3 million times, and you’ll be bopping along to the enjoyable ‘Talk Your Mind’. With an infectious vibrant energy, they’re the perfect band to kick start your weekend.

Turning it up to tropical, Bare Traps will be bringing their intoxicating alt-pop cocktail along drenched in African beats, mesmerising grooves and the all-important catchy hooks that will bring a smile to your face. London based Bare Traps formed in a desperate attempt to avoid ‘real work’ and as a result have been pouring their heart and soul into their music. And it’s paid off – they’ve been championed by Radio X, BBC Introducing and BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson. They’ve also toured extensively across the UK including festival appearances at the likes of The Great Escape and Sundown – the latter involving a story about them being the side of the stage to Craig David with no trousers and underwear on, highlighting just how likeable this lot are.

At the beginning of March, they dropped the undeniable ‘Take Your Time’ alongside a 2018 version of their song ‘Inside’, both tracks are upbeat and distinctive with earworms and soaring guitars that you won’t be forgetting any time soon.

This week’s opener is the truly wonderful Joe Jury who draws inspiration from Neil Young, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan by taking acoustic guitar, soulful vocals and joining forces with synths and electronics to create a unique sound that will leave you in awe. Joe has worked with James Arthur’s producer on his 2017 release ‘Love Somebody’ which is remarkably fetching and his EP ‘The Streets of Campden’ (a homage to his youth) is fuelled by soaring chorus’ as present in ’Give Me All You Got’ and shows off his beautiful vocals such as in the track’s namesake. Joe will be opening the show with his electric set that you will not want to miss.

Tickets for the night are available from DICE for just £6. Get yours here:
